Description:
The system shall consist of a subwoofer driven and protected by a dedicated amplified controller.
The subwoofer shall feature two 18" low frequency drivers, mounted in a bass-reflex tuned enclosure.
The LF limit shall be 25 Hz (-10 dB).
The subwoofer shall be usable in standard or cardioid configuration.
The maximum SPL shall be 143 dB (peak level at 1 m under half space conditions using pink noise with crest factor 4). The long term RMS handling capacity shall be 1600W at the nominal 4 Ω impedance.
The subwoofer cabinet construction shall consist of first grade Baltic beech and birch plywood. The dimensions shall be 565 mm (22.2 in) height, 1351 mm (53.2 in) width, and 719 mm (28.3 in) depth. The subwoofer weight shall be 79 kg (174 lb). The front of the subwoofer shall be protected by a steel grill with anti-corrosion coating covered with acoustically neutral fabric.
The subwoofer shall include a flush-fitting 2-point rigging system. The dedicated lifting beam shall allow flying up to 16 subwoofers. Two ground runners and eight corner stops shall allow stacking the subwoofer in horizontal and vertical position. The subwoofer shall be connected via one 4-point speakON connector.
The KS28 is a reference subwoofer designed to extend the frequency response of large format systems.
The KS28 features two high excursion, 18’’ direct radiating drivers mounted in a bass-reflex tuned enclosure.
The KS28 operates from 25 Hz. The excursion capability of the transducer, combined with contributes to deliver a high SPL, with low distortion.
The KS28 can offer standard or cardioid directivity, by combining physical deployment and the suitable preset.
